Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Yaps, a macOS voice assistant application ("the Service"), operated by Yaps ("we", "us", "our"). By using Yaps, you agree to these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Yaps, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Yaps is a macOS application that provides speech-to-text dictation, text-to-speech, voice notes, a studio editor, and voice commands. The Service may include both free and paid features.

License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Yaps on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the software, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code.

Account Registration

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as needed.

Subscription and Billing

Paid features are available through subscription plans. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple's App Store policies or our direct billing terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Yaps for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
• Use the Service to transmit harmful content, including malware or spam.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization.

Intellectual Property

Yaps and all related trademarks, logos, and content are the property of Yaps or its licensors. Your content remains yours — we claim no ownership over text, voice recordings, or other data you create with Yaps.

Disclaimers

Yaps is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that speech recognition will be perfectly accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yaps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Yaps at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your license to use Yaps ends immediately.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
