Yaps is designed so core voice workflows can run on your device after local models are installed. Online processing is reserved for features or engines that say they need it.
Core workflows on-device
Installed local engines can handle dictation, cleanup, notes, offline voices, transcription, and translation without uploading the working content.
Optional online features are explicit
Cloud voices, selected engines, voice-command intent, account, billing, and optional sync use a connection. Yaps labels those routes instead of pretending everything is offline.
Your notes stay portable
Notes live as ordinary text and Markdown-friendly content, so your knowledge remains readable outside Yaps and useful to tools you choose.
