PDF text extraction that keeps pages reviewable

Each PDF page is kept as a separate section while it is being read. That makes long reports easier to inspect and gives Markdown and Word exports a sensible chapter structure rather than one giant block of text.

PDFs are layout-first files, so extraction is not the same as a pixel-perfect conversion. Single-column, text-based PDFs work best. Columns, tables, footnotes and unusual reading order may need a quick edit after export.

Choose TXT, Markdown, Word, RTF or HTML

TXT is the cleanest choice for a plain transcript or a file you want to search everywhere. Markdown preserves a lightweight heading structure for notes and knowledge bases. DOCX is the practical choice when the next stop is Microsoft Word or Pages.

RTF opens in most word processors without requiring a full Word package, while HTML is useful when you want a standalone document that can open in any browser. All five outputs are generated locally from the same extracted text.

What this free PDF converter cannot read yet

A scanned PDF is made of images rather than selectable words, so it needs OCR before a text export can be useful. DRM-protected documents are not sent anywhere and are not supported by this browser workflow.

The safest check is simple: if you can select and copy a sentence in your PDF, it is a good candidate. Always review a complex document before relying on the exported text for a formal submission or record.
